From the last study we learned that the church at Sardis is the Protestant church, which was known for teaching salvation through faith alone. The Protestant church also emphasized reading and understanding your own Bible as opposed to relying on interpretations of your religious organization. These seem like really good things, and yet Jesus didn’t have any good things to say about the church in Sardis. Why? Many teach that one can lose their salvation based on Revelation 3:5. Is that really what it means? Where do we get the notion that our name can be blotted of the book of life? Finally, Dr. Bramson shows where the Protestant church went wrong.
You may find Dr. Bramson’s book, Revelation Decoded: The Easiest Book in the Bible, to be a valuable tool as you listen to the Revelation series. Revelation Decoded is available here.
