In this lesson, Dr. Bramson discusses the healing of the man born blind. Why did the Pharisees get so worked up about this healing? According to history, there were three ways that Israel would recognize the Messiah—He would heal a leper, cast a demon out a mute, and heal a man born blind. Jesus had now done all three of these signs. Next, what does it mean to be “put out of the synagogue”? What could the blind man see that the Pharisees refused to see? Why didn’t the formerly blind man recognize Jesus when Jesus found him the second time? Finally, Dr. Bramson addresses the topic of suffering.
