The Book of Revelation Part 37: Revelation 18

Many people believe that the angel in Revelation 18:1 is just an angel, but what angel has the ability to illumine the entire world? Moving on, what do unclean and detestable birds refer to? Who does “my people” referred to in verse 4? Many people say that “my people” refers to the church, which means that the church goes through the tribulation. Is this true? Finally, Dr. Bramson spends the bulk of this teaching explaining verses 12-13, which he feels is the heart of this chapter.

  1. I was thinking about Egypt’s false religions and the gold given to Solomon and was looking in 1 Kings. In one lesson, you mentioned how you HAD to be a Levite to offer sacrifices to the Lord. I would like to draw your attention to 1 Kings 3:15. King Solomon is standing in front of the Ark of the Covenant (Is this not in the Holy of Holies?). He offered up burnt offerings and….made a feast for all his servants. Is this not the same sin that King Uzziah (not sure I got the name right) was stricken with leprosy for?

My thoughts are along this line…. My brother has a friend who is involved in Masons. My brother has been trying to point out to him just what all the masons are involved in. It has been a terrible struggle. The masons credit their beginnings to Solomon. Solomon did several no-nos according to God’s Fatherly “Don’ts!” He sacrificed to God before the Ark of the Covenant, he imported many horses and chariots, he married women that the Israelites were told not to. Do you think that God blessed him and satan used him as well?
