Jesus in the Old Testament

51. Moses held up Outstretched Arms

In this lesson, Dr. Bramson examines the story of Moses and the battle against the Amalekites (Ex 17:8-13). In this passage, as long as Moses’ arms were stretched out, the Israelites won. When his arms went down, the Amalekites had victory over Israel. Some groups interpret this passage to mean that we need to look to the law for victory over our enemies. Is this a correct interpretation? Since the entire Old Testament is about Jesus, what does this story reveal about Him?
