Jesus in the Old Testament

81. Christmas in the Old Testament I: Curse of Coniah

In this lesson, Dr. Bramson examines how Israel was to recognize their Messiah: he must be a biologic descendant of David as well as the rightful heir to David’s throne. Investigating these requirements leads to the problem known as the curse of Coniah (Jer. 22:24-30), which stated that no biologic descendent of Coniah (Jehoichin) would sit on the throne of David. How did God solve this problem? To answer this puzzle, Dr. Bramson looks at the genealogies of Jesus.
