It was a cool, gray and rainy day this morning in Jerusalem as our bus pulled out of the hotel. Our day began with a visit to a quiet Garden of Gethsemene. As we gazed at the ancient olive trees and reflected on our Lord’s suffering, we also gazed at the Eastern Gate and anticipated His soon return. No rocks placed by his enemies will prevent Him from a victorious return through these gates. Later in the day, we visited Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Museum. There are no words to express our feelings after such a sobering afternoon, so I will quote from one of the victims of the Holocaust: “All of us dying here, amidst the icy Arctic indifference of the nations, are forgotten by the world and by life…” Geneva Chinnock Jerusalem, Israel
